Bragdon Wood comes from a book by one of our favorite authors, C.S. Lewis. The book is called "That Hideous Strength", and is the third book of his "Space Trilogy". This is really not a good title for the trilogy (and I don't think he ever called it that) especially as That Hideous Strength has nothing to do with space. It is an incredible book, from and incredible series, by an incredible author. You don't need to have read the first two books (Out of the Silent Planet, and Perelandra) to read That Hideous Strength, but it would be a good thing to read all three. So do that today, and find out where we got our name (it has something to do with Merlin, if you wanted to know).

Thank you to Mr. Lewis for all his wisdom and writings!

And to all the other bands who have taken their names from C.S. Lewis, like Sixpence None the Richer, poor old lu, Silverchair (we suspect), Narnia, Chasing Furies (we think), Puddleglum, Dawntreader, etc. you must rock, even if we've never heard some of you. We know some of you do rock so we're assuming you all do...

Other Lewis writings include:

Mere Christianity
The Great Divorce
The Screwtape Leters
The Chronicles of Narnia (all 7 books)
Till We Have Faces
A Grief Observed
Miracles
The Problem of Pain
And many more...

Mr. Lewis also was an outstanding and unique poet. Few people have really gotten the chance to read his poetry, so check that out too.
